On July 8, 2026, Michael Wessel was sentenced to 90 days in the
Mercer County Jail after pleading guilty to Intimidation of an Attorney,
Victim, or Witness in a Criminal Case, a felony of the third degree; and one
count of Aggravated Menacing, a misdemeanor of the first degree.
In February 2026, Wessel missed a scheduled pretrial in the Celina
Municipal Court. Wessel called the Celina municipal prosecutor and
threatened harm against the municipal prosecutor and his administrative
assistant. After making these threats, Wessel continued to call the municipal
prosecutor’s office approximately 100 times and left 9 threatening voicemails.
Several of these calls were made after law enforcement warned Wessel to stop
calling.
As part of his sentence, Wessel was ordered to have no contact with the
municipal prosecutor and his administrative assistant.
