March 12, 2026 (Swink)

On March 12, 2026, Geoffrey E. Swink pled guilty to felony OVI (Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated) and endangering children and was sentenced to eighteen (18) months in prison. The charges arose from a February 4, 2026 incident where Swink was driving impaired in the Celina. After Swink was booked into the Mercer County Jail for the OVI offense, officers learned that Swink had left his two-year-old daughter home alone. When officers questioned Swink regarding his address so that they could check on the child’s welfare, Swink refused to provide his address, then provided a fictitious address.

Through investigative efforts, officers found Swink’s address and responded to the residence to check on the child. When officers arrived, the door to the residence was locked and officers could hear a young child crying inside. Officers forced entry and found the child sitting on a couch, crying, alone in the residence. Thankfully, the child was unharmed.
