April 7, 2026 (Nicholson)

On April 6, 2026, Alicia C. Nicholson pled guilty to Interference with
Custody, a felony of the fifth degree, and an accompanying specification to forfeit
her vehicle. This charge and specification stem from an incident that occurred on
March 5, 2025. Nicholson and her co-defendant removed Nicholson’s biological son
from his foster home and fled to Indiana. Nicholson had no parental rights to the
juvenile. Nicholson, her co-defendant, and the juvenile were located the next day in
St. Joseph County, Indiana.
Despite objection from the State, Nicholson was released from custody,
pending sentencing.
Nicholson will be sentenced on May 27, 2026. She faces a maximum of 12
months in prison and a $2,500 fine. Nicholson’s co-defendant has already pled guilty
and been sentenced to 10 months in prison.
