On February 11, 2026, Leslie E. Weisenberger pled guilty to Operating a Vehicle while under the Influence, a felony of the fourth degree. This charge stemmed from an incident that occurred on November 19, 2025. Celina Police Department initiated a traffic stop on Weisenberger’s vehicle for driving under suspension. While speaking with Weisenberger, officers noticed several indicators of impairment and asked Weisenberger to participate in standard field sobriety testing (SFTs). Weisenberger failed the SFTs. This is Weisenberger’s fourth OVI conviction in 10 years.
Weisenberger will be sentenced on March 18, 2026. She faces 60 mandatory days in jail up to 1 year, or 60 mandatory days in prison with an additional 6 to 30 months in prison. Additionally, she faces a mandatory fine of $1,540 to $10,500.
Also on February 11, 2026, Kyle R. Poplaski was sentenced to forty-eight months in prison. Last October, Poplaski was convicted of Failure to Comply with an Order or Signal of a Police Officer. After being sentenced on that offense, Poplaski fled from the courtroom to avoid being taken into custody. He was quickly apprehended by law enforcement and later charged with Escape and a probation violation. At the sentencing hearing, Prosecutor Minor argued that a significant prison sentence was warranted for Poplaski due to his “persistent criminal conduct over the years, the seriousness of the offenses for which [he was] before [the court], and the need to send a message to the public that this type of criminal conduct – repeatedly fleeing from law enforcement – will not be tolerated.”
