February 23, 2026 (Underwood)

On February 20, 2026, Andrew P. Underwood pled guilty to two counts of felony theft. The charges stemmed from a September 23, 2025 incident, where Underwood issued checks to a Mercer County jewelry store totaling $4,879.88 for two pieces of jewelry. Underwood’s checks were returned to the business due to Underwood’s checking account having been closed. Investigative efforts revealed that Underwood later pawned the jewelry at a pawn shop in Dayton.

Underwood is facing charges in several surrounding counties, where he is alleged to have engaged in a similar scheme. Underwood will be sentenced on March 4, 2026. He faces a maximum of twenty-four months in prison and a $5,000 fine.
