Press Release
On October 14, 2026, Brandon Vede was sentenced to 59 months in
prison after pleading guilty by Bill of Information to two counts of Aggravated
Possession of Drugs, felonies of the third degree, and one count of Aggravated
Possession of Drugs, a felony of the fifth degree.
In July 2026, a Celina Police Department officer stopped Vede’s vehicle
for no visible license plate. When the officer approached the vehicle, he made
contact with Vede, the driver; Vede’s juvenile daughter, the backseat
passenger; and a front seat passenger.
During the traffic stop, the officer noted Vede’s nervous demeanor and
asked him to step out of the vehicle. When Vede stepped out of the vehicle,
the officer asked if he could pat down Vede for weapons. Vede consented to
the pat down. During the pat down, the officer felt an object in Vede’s pocket
and asked what it was. The officer then asked if he could take the object out
of Vede’s pocket and look at it. Vede consented. The officer examined the
object, a Dramamine bottle, and opened the bottle. When he did so, a white
powdery substance got all over the officer’s hands.
Vede was placed in handcuffs, mirandized, and asked about the white
powdery substance. Vede admitted it was methamphetamine. More officers
soon arrived on scene and spoke with the front passenger, who informed
officers that there was a jar of meth in the vehicle. When officers searched the
vehicle, they uncovered approximately 60 grams of methamphetamine in
various containers in Vede’s backpack. Additionally, officers located
approximately 5 grams of psilocyn (i.e. shrooms). When Vede was transported
to the jail, deputies found additional baggies of methamphetamine on Vede’s
person.
