On October 23, 2026, Cory D. Gross pled guilty to Aggravated Possession of
Drugs, a felony of the second degree, and Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs, a felony
of the first degree, in two separate cases. That same day, Gross was sentenced to a
total prison term of 10 – 13 years. The drug at issue in both cases was
methamphetamines.
The drug possession conviction arose from a traffic stop that occurred in the
early morning hours of October 10, 2026. While the stop was ongoing, a trained
narcotics canine detected the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle that Gross
was driving. Officers searched the vehicle and found approximately 85 grams of
methamphetamines secreted in a compartment of the vehicle.
The drug trafficking conviction arose from Gross’s sale of an ounce of
methamphetamines in the vicinity of a juvenile. The transaction took place at
Gross’s Mercer County residence.
The Grand Lake Task Force conducted the investigations that led to these
convictions.
