On August 6, 2026, Karen Goettemoeller was sentenced to 180 days in the
Mercer County Jail, suspended on compliance with specified conditions.
In June 2025, Goettemoeller was indicted by a Mercer County Grand Jury for
Theft from a Person in a Protected Class, a felony of the third degree. Over
approximately four years, Goettemoeller, a former employee of the Quilterie, took
several thousands of dollars from the owner of the business.
Through plea negotiations, Goettemoeller paid the victim nearly $7,600 in
funds previously stolen. Goettemoeller pled no contest and was found guilty to a
revised charge of Possession of Criminal Tools. Goettemoeller must comply with
the Court’s conditions for a period of two years. Noncompliance may result in the
imposition of the jail sentence.
